• The KBP Cares Level Up Scholarship was created to support restaurant-level employees in advancing their educational goals — whether through college, vocational or trade training, certification programs, or obtaining a GED.

    • At KBP Cares, we believe education can change lives. In partnership with KBP’s Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), we are proud to offer this scholarship to help reduce financial barriers and expand access to opportunity for employees who are ready to take the next step in their education.

    • The scholarship is offered twice each year for the Spring and Fall academic terms.

  • Selected recipients may receive:

    • Up to $1,500 per semester toward tuition or eligible program costs

    • Additional support for required academic materials and approved education-related expenses

    • A Chromebook for school-related use

    Award distribution aligns with the academic term and requires documentation of enrollment and expenses at time of applying.

  • To apply for the Level Up Scholarship, employees must:

    • Be employed for at least 90 consecutive days and have worked a minimum of 130 hours

    • Be in good standing with KBP

    • Be a restaurant-level employee (Above Restaurant Leaders and Home Office employees are not eligible)

    • Be a member of at least one KBP Employee Resource Group (ERG)

    • Be enrolled in an accredited 2- or 4-year college, vocational or trade school, GED program, or certificate completion program

    Additional guidelines:

    • Employees may receive a maximum of four Level Up scholarships over their lifetime

    • Employees may not receive more than one scholarship per ERG per semester

  • The Level Up Scholarship runs twice each year — giving employees two opportunities to take the next step in their education.

    Spring Semester Awards

    • Applications open in the Fall (typically September – November)

    • Recipients are notified in December

    • Funds are distributed in time for the upcoming Spring term

    Fall Semester Awards

    • Applications open in the Spring (typically March – May)

    • Recipients are notified in June

    • Funds are distributed in time for the upcoming Fall term

    • Exact dates will be shared in company-wide communications before scholarship cycle.

    • KBP employees may apply during an open application window through the link shared in company communications. The application will also be available on the KBP Cares application platform during each enrollment period, and a QR code will be provided for easy access.

    • The application includes short response questions that allow applicants to share their educational goals, aspirations, and commitment to furthering their education. Applications are reviewed in partnership with KBP’s Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).

    • Recipients are selected based on eligibility, quality of responses, and alignment with the goals of the Level Up Scholarship program.
